Example: A company is using imported high-speed drilling machine, but current production rate of the drilling is only one-third of rated speed, and why production department often complain that pneumatic equipment has water, affecting production, where is the reason?


The most fundamental reason is that there is water in compressed air!




PCB (printed circuit board) is an important electronic component, it’s provider of electrical connection for electronic components, and it is made of electronic printing, it is called "printed" circuit board.



PCB board is generally divided into 3 kinds single-sided, double-sided and multi-layer board. single-sided board is a single-sided copper, so it can only use copper side to design circuit wire and component welding; double-sided panel includes TOP and Bottom, which are coated with copper on both sides of circuit board, double-sided can be welded, middle part is an insulation layer, it’s a commonly used circuit board; multi layer board add other layers between top and bottom of double layer, such as placing two power board to constitute four layers and so on.




Mounter, exposure machine, drilling machine, testing machine is larger categories of gas demand on PCB industry. pneumatic drill bit is accepted by most enterprises due to its low energy consumption, quick response, reach the required pressure and speed in a short period of time.




















Drilling machine procedure in running compressed air: Dryer after dry and filter compressed air transport to back cover through the pipeline - transport to front and rear bearing and spindle shell through internal trachea pipeline - inner wall of spindle shell and before and after bearing has a row of uniform pores, surrounding air blow to axis making it suspension in the air when air enter- when coil pass current of frequency conversion, it will produce magnetic field force, then make axis produce revolving speed - Air compressors add pressure loss continuously to ensure normal suspension of the axis.




According to ISO8573 / 1 standard (typical compressed air quality classification) and industry standards (JBT5967-2007 pneumatic components and systems with air quality grade), basic requirements of compressed air quality on PCB industry: contain water content is -20 ℃ (pressure dew point) , contain Dust is 0.1μ, contain oil is 0.1㎎ / m³. pressure dew point is a measure indicator of compressed air quality, its average value reach -20 ℃ to ensure good quality of circuit board for PCB production with larger gas consumption. However, the current market is generally substandard compressed air quality on PCB industry, thereby resulting in high defective rate.















In conclusion, there will be hazards as below for substandard compressed air quality on PCB industry:

1. Damage to production equipment, such as: electronic test equipment, exposure machines, drilling machines, optical testing equipment, etc.;

2. Directly affect mainshaft speed, increase defective rate ;

3. Substandard compressed air easily cause pollution for gas equipment, such as solenoid valves and air cylinders.
