Analysis of Unstable Performance of the Dryer




Compressed air has become an indispensable power source for human’s production and life. with the continuous development of modern industry, the quality requirements of compressed air is also getting higher and higher, while it is mainly determined by the pressure dew point, the more low the dew point value is, the better the quality of compressed air is. it has different requirements of the compressed air due to production process differences in different industry, such as electroplating paint, food, pharmaceutical and other industries generally requires -20 ℃ pressure dew point; chemical, electric power meter generally require below - 40 ℃ pressure dew point, while the semiconductor chip plant requires around -70 ℃ pressure dew point of compressed air. 




Most companies don’t know that it will bring great harm to the production for poor quality of compressed air, so they still use refrigeration dryer. while it can not meet the production needs—— the pressure dew point is generally around 10 ℃.


As we all know, wet air contains a maximum amount of water vapor, which called saturated air at a certain temperature. the excessive water vapor will be condensed from the wet air if exceed this limit. In fact, the saturated moisture content of the wet air will increase or decrease with the rise or fall of the air temperature. there will be condensed water if the saturated air continues to cool, and the air will eventually reach the saturation corresponding to temperature, that is whether exit air condensation for critical temperature, which is called dew point temperature, dew point temperature corresponding to a certain pressure , which is called the pressure dew point.












Refrigeration dryer use refrigeration technology to make the compressed air forced cool to the required dew point temperature according to its physical property of wet air, which will turn contain the water vapor mist into liquid droplets, and automatically drain via drainer. in fact, refrigeration dryer is much less which can achieve compressed air industry standards, one of which is refrigerant filling problem.

Perfusion of refrigerant is very few, refrigeration dryer will appear these phenomena: ① evaporation pressure and condensing pressure is more low than normal operation, but the air dew point can’t decline; ② compressor shell is hot.

Perfusion of refrigerant is too much more, refrigeration dryer will appear: ①decreasing the condensed area, resulting in increase condensing pressure, even serious high-voltage trip due to the refrigerant liquid stored in the condenser; ②refrigeration compressor increase load, it’s difficult to startup; ③ refrigerant cannot be all vaporized in the evaporator, so that wet vapor into the compressor with the danger of "liquid compression"; ④the compressor decrease cooling capacity, rise air dew point due to increased condensing pressure.
It can be seen that the filling of the refrigerant is not easy, there is no intuitive filling display, so it will make the filling more difficult. And this is the one of the reasons why 95% enterprises compressed air can’t reach standard on the market.
