What Factors Affect Drying Effect of Adsorption Dryer?



No matter it is compressed air refrigeration dryer or compressed air adsorption dryer, which belongs to post-treatment equipment of compressed air, they main remove the moisture in the compressed air, making compressed air reach standards.


However, adsorption dryer (such as twin tower) exists some deficiencies in the technology, resulting in a poor drying effect. So what factors affect the dryer?


Factors:

First, the tunnel effect

1. The speed of compressed air is accelerated, the moisture cannot be completely adsorbed yet, and the compressed air has already passed once forming a tunnel, resulting in the obvious decrease of adsorption effect and the increase of dew point.

2. The collision friction will increase among the adsorbents, causing severe sorbent powder, low water absorption;

3. Adsorbent dust easy to plug the muffler of adsorption dryer and the rear pipeline filter, resulting in reduced filter adsorption.


Second, uneven airflow distribution

In general, the inlet pipe of adsorption dryer is much smaller than the diameter of adsorption cylinder. the airflow pass filler in the container, gas distribution isn’t balanced under the combined action of initial pressure and velocity of the compressed air.

At this time, there is a considerable part of filler cannot be fully utilized, then it easy to form adsorption dead angle, resulting in greatly reduced adsorbent utilization and adsorption efficiency.


Third, untight filling of adsorption dryer

It is very difficult to fill closely and evenly in big and deep adsorption tower capacity, and different sizes structure for molecular sieve and alumina.

It will promote serious "tunnel effect", affecting the drying effect if the filling is not uniform and close.
